Improving Your UTV’s Fuel Economy
Whether it’s a hardy workhorse or a thrilling way to kill time, your UTV is a powerful vehicle—and it goes through fuel pretty quickly. We here at Langston Motorsports want to help you save some time and money, so we’ve put together some tips on how to improve your UTV’s fuel economy, below. To learn more, or to see the UTVs we have for sale, contact our store in Perris, California, today!
Limit Weight
It may sound obvious, but the less weight your UTV carries, the less fuel you’ll use over time. Try to minimize the gear and supplies you bring along for the ride to minimize the amount of weight your UTV has to lug around. Keep the weight of all passengers and aftermarket add-ons in mind, as well.
Careful Braking
The way you brake can impact how much fuel your UTV uses in a small way, but it adds up over time. Try to let off the gas and let the UTV slow down naturally before you engage the brakes, and do it gently when it’s safe to do so.
Tire Health
Obviously, your tires’ health is important for a number of reasons, but it can also impact fuel efficiency. If the tread is too low, or if the tires aren’t inflated properly, they might skid or stick, forcing the engine to work harder to move you the same distance. Make sure the tires are healthy before every ride.
