Whether your powersports vehicle is built to conquer highways or tame the great outdoors, it’s a potentially dangerous machine. We here at Langston Motorsports know that’s part of the fun, though, so we’ve put together a brief pre-ride inspection list so you can enjoy it safely. To learn more, or to see the powersports vehicles we have for sale, contact our store in Perris, California, today!

1: Fluid Check

Starting by checking the levels and quality of the fluids in your engine, including:

Engine oil

Coolant

Brake fluid

Fuel

2: Tires

Next, check the tires. Start with a tire pressure gauge and make sure the psi matches the manufacturer recommendations in the owner’s manual, then adjust if needed. Then check the tires for signs of damage or punctures and make sure the tread level is above the recommended minimum. Finally, check that the tread is wearing down evenly on both sides.

3: Controls

Your next step is to make sure the controls all move properly and perform their proper functions. Then go on a brief test ride nearby and test the acceleration, brakes, and throttle to make sure they all work correctly.

4: Visual Inspection

Finally, give your powersports vehicle one last thorough visual inspection to see if there’s anything you missed, like damage, corrosion, or excessive wear. This is a last chance check to avoid unexpected problems down the line.
