If you’ve recently purchased your first ATV, we encourage you to take a look at our list of important safety accessories you’ll need for your first ride. If you’re still in the market for an ATV, feel free to stop by our dealership in Perris, California to grab your model today!

Gear

In many states, it’s required by law for ATV drivers to wear a helmet. Therefore, it’s extremely important that this is one of the first pieces of gear you purchase! When selecting your helmet, we advise finding one that is D.O.T. (Department of Transportation) approved and well-fitting. If you have plans to ride extremely difficult trails or compete in races, you may want to look into buying protective clothing with pads. However, if you plan to stick to intermediate trails, a long-sleeved T-shirt and jeans should be fine. Lastly, we also advise purchasing a pair of durable riding boots. These are flexible enough to allow a range of movement while protecting your feet from any flying debris.

Emergency Kits

While we’re calling these emergency kits, they come in handy in a number of different scenarios! The first emergency kit you’ll want is a tool kit. If your ATV ever breaks down while on the trail, you should have the equipment necessary to get it running long enough to drive back to safety. While you may be able to fit your tools into your ATV’s glove box, it might be wise to purchase an attachable tool kit if you have a surplus of supplies to bring along. In case of an accident, we also advise having a first-aid kit in your glove box at all times. These come in a number of sizes and contain a plethora of supplies. They can also be easily purchased at your local pharmacy!

We hope this short list of safety accessories has helped you prepare for your first ATV trip. If you’re located nearby in Temecula or Orange County, California, we hope you’ll visit us here at Langston Motorsports for all of your off-roading needs!
