1. Kawasaki® Made an Interesting Debut in the United States
Kawasaki existed for decades before the company entered the American market. In the 1960s, the American Kawasaki Motorcycle Corporation began. The first factory? A meat warehouse in Chicago, Illinois.
2. The First Bikes Were Not Sold Under the Kawasaki® Brand
The company first released two-stroke motorcycles under the brand named Omega. It wasn't long, however, before Kawasaki released motorcycles under its own name.
3. Kawasaki® Motorcycles Were Built To Be Sturdy
When Kawasaki came into the American market, many motorcycle manufacturers were producing lightweight bikes. At the same time, American consumers were desiring more powerful (and heavier) models.
Kawasaki decided to meet this desire by producing the Samurai and Avenger models. These beasts of machines quickly became popular!
3. Kawasaki® Became the Premier Manufacturer of Superbikes
In 1969, Kawasaki received an exciting claim to fame. The company earned the title of the premier manufacturer of superbikes around the world with the Mach III motorcycle.
4. Kawasaki® Built Upon Its Motorcycle Success
With the success of its motorcycles, Kawasaki was able to expand into other markets. In 1973, the company entered the personal watercraft market. In 1981, they released their first ATV. Then in 1985, they released their first ATV model. In the years that followed, Kawasaki continued improving upon its products to deliver a thrilling adventure on the street, on the dirt trail, and in the water.
