UTV Camping
Upgrade your next camping trip by making it a UTV riding adventure. You'll be out in the great outdoors camping anyways, why not spend your day tearing up the trails nearby? It's a great way to blend two pastimes for an unforgettable trip.
Here at Langston Motorsports, we strive to make your life easier. We've created the following guide to making the most of your side-by-side camping trip. If you want more travel advice or you want to explore UTVs for sale, visit our dealership. We are located in Perris, California, and we also serve those in Orange County and Temecula.
1. Pick Your Destination
Trip planning starts by figuring out where you want to go. Think about what UTV trails you have been dying to explore, especially ones that are a farther ways out of town. Since you'll be camping, you can spend the majority of one day driving to your destination, spend the night, then spend the next day(s) tearing up the trails.
Don't forget to look for fun activities on the way to the campsite or nearby, such as local tourist attractions. Stopping at various places throughout your drive can help make the long drive less draining.
Once you create a list of the places you want to see, the next step is picking a campsite in a convenient location nearby. Try to book in advance to help secure your spot. Plus, you may be able to get an early bird discount.
2. Prepare Your UTV
Since you'll be centering your trip on your UTV, you will want to ensure your model is ready for the adventure. Do a pre-trip inspection to check for any red flags that could turn into issues on your trip. It's much better to get it fixed now than have to spend part of your vacation hunting down a mechanic.
Start by measuring the tire tread levels and air pressure to ensure they match the manufacturer's recommendations. Test the lights to see if any have burned out. Go for a short test drive to verify the UTV can brake, accelerate as it should. If you notice any issues, bring your side-by-side to the service department at Langston Motorsports.
3. Packing for Your Trip
There are some essentials you will need for UTV camping. These include shelter, any medications, toiletries, clothing, water, food, and supplies for a fire. You won't need too much beyond that. Try to avoid bringing anything and everything you might need. It just takes extra time to load into your tow vehicle, unpack at your campsite, load back onto your tow vehicle, then unpack at home. Unless you will be gone on a several day vacation, you can get by with a minimalistic packing approach.
One way to make the most of limited space is to use travel-sized containers for as many products as you can. There's no need to bring a massive bottle of shampoo when you will only need a few squirts anyways. Another good approach is to use backpacking equipment when you can. These items are designed to take up minimal space and add as little weight as possible.
We hope you found our tips helpful. If your UTV needs new parts or a service appointment before your trip, bring it to the experts at Langston Motorsports. We can get your side-by-side repaired in no time. We also offer a range of UTVs for sale if you are looking to buy. Whatever you need, you'll find with us.
